Be strong, Be Different !

by Taniya Rana 08 Mar 2021

“You deserve someone who loves you with every single beat of his heart. Someone who can help you reach your dreams and who can protect you from your fears. You need someone who will delight you with respect, love every part of you, exclusively your flaws. You should be with someone who can make you happy, really happy, dancing-on-air happy.” if you have this mindset; you are at fault. We want you to know that you are all you need, and you are enough!

My absolute favourite words and ones I live by and say every day: Power, Strength, and Confidence. Empowerment puts the strength in Strength and Sunshine. Empowerment is something we all hold within us, but sometimes it lies hidden until we realise just the way to claim our empowerment and let it guide us in our everyday lives.

You are strong, You are pretty, You deserve to be happy, You are enough!

Today, there’s a huge movement among women to empower one another, secure equal rights, challenge gender chronicle and establish a brighter future for our daughters. This movement has travelled the world, and we have inspired women to take a stand for improved gender equality around the world. With that said, it’s clear we have to make some changes here at home.

  • Boost yours and your sisters’ self-esteem

Empowered women continue to empower others, so encourage the ladies around you, and make them feel special and powerful. Encourage your friends to talk up and ensure that they know the worth of their opinions so that they’re never scared to use their voice.

Do you have a daughter? Celebrate her self-expression from a young age. There’s no “right way” for girls to dress. Whether she loves to dress up in full princess finery, or she likes to keep a stylishly low profile, encourage her to be her genuine self. And fashion isn’t the sole way to assert her unique personality—support her interests wholeheartedly, whether she’s into sports, drama, band, or academics.

  • Shut down negativity

Women are constantly exposed to negativity as they’re often held to impractical standards of the sweetness displayed in magazines, on TV, and more recently on social media.

While our near-constant presence on the net has created a culture where women and men can more easily express themselves, negativity online has become an enormous problem, especially among teenagers.

Rear women by taking a stance against negative comments online, at the office, in school, and wherever you go. Conflict negativity by promoting body positivity, intelligence and authenticity. Don’t be scared to shut down negativity directly and honestly, your fellow females will admire you.

  • Be open and honest

This one is often tricky because it’s tough to be vulnerable. Sometimes it is often hard to share your experiences with others, but it can play a crucial role in giving other women a voice.

Without women like Parks, Malala Yousafzai, and Susan B. Anthony, women wouldn’t have the rights we've today. Thanks to these ladies speaking out and sharing their struggles, real changes are made: legislation, societal expectations and even how women view themselves within the mirror every day. The world has been transformed by women who rose to the occasion to combat gynocentric.

While it’s important to share your own story, it’s even as important to concentrate on other women’s stories and experiences. There are plenty of great resources out there to read, listen and share women’s narratives.

  • Lead by example

This is one of the foremost important ways you'll empower women. Young women are deeply influenced by their role models, so confirm you’re an honest one. Celebrate differing types of beauty, empower women with kindness and strength, and encourage women to form their aspirations a reality.

  • Become a mentor

Whether you discover a mentorship program in your community or specialize in inspiring your friends and sisters, being a mentor may be a good way to inspire young women. Gather a gaggle of gals and encourage them to participate in an empowerment activity.

  • Know your worth

Know your worth and confirm the ladies in your workplace know theirs. Be brave, and ask for what you deserve. Future generations of working women will thank you.

  • Fight against injustice

Stand up for women’s rights, and be a part of the processing activity. Take your knowledge to the referendum, write your representatives, and encourage other women to join the fight for women’s rights.

Throw on your favourite pointed toe flats, craft a witty sign, and get ready to take down injustice with an empowered group of ladies by your side.

  • Help a new mom adjust

Whether it’s offering maximum maternity or paternity leave at your company or offering to donate babysitting services to a mom you recognize helping a replacement mom adjust may be a great way to empower mothers and their little ones. So be sure to take care of the mothers who show us love every day.

  • Show your appreciation for the ladies in your life

Say many thanks, give and accept compliments, and help the women around you. Show the women in your life how much you appreciate them by sending a thank you card, tribute them, or simply telling them what they mean to you.

Final Thoughts

Empowering women starts with you. Show your support for the ladies around you by showing them they matter and reminding them of their strength. Changing the narrative for girls and seeing real change may be a team effort, so share this list with the women in your life, and encourage them to require action. And that is how you can achieve the title: Strong, different, and independent!
